Project Overview

Project Activity: Quickview surveys & overburden removal

Length of Drainage Surveyed: 30km

Length of Overburden Removed: 45.6km

Hours of Works: Weekday daytime and night-time working

Summary of Works: Over 30km of detailed surveys and inspections as prescribed in the Trunk Road Management Manual (TRMM), in addition to the removal of the 45.6km of overburden on top of existing filter drain.

Deliverables included inspection reports and as-built information. Crown Plus were appointed Principal Contractor for the scheme with the additional responsibility of providing all welfare facilities, co-ordination of road space booking, the traffic management and jetting works.

The scheme commenced in June 2018 with a view to completing all overburden and surveying works within 55 shifts, which was achieved on time and to the satisfaction of the client.

“On an annual basis Crown Plus develop a programme of detailed inspections that meet the requirements of TRMM. They undertake the role of Principal Contractor and
are responsible for organising all traffic management and road space bookings.

“Crown have also brought added value to the works by identifying and recording all drainage asset locations with GPS equipment and providing as built drawings. All cross-carriageway drainage has been inspected for condition and connectivity using the Quick View method.
