Drainage Remediation
Following the undertaking of detailed drainage surveys, Crown Plus have the inhouse capability, resource, and experience to efficiently and economically undertake any remedial works required to bring the drainage system back into a serviceable condition. We have the detailed knowledge and experience to undertake the most complex of schemes on pipe diameters ranging from 100mm to 1800mm.
Our expertise covers a range of no dig drainage repair and rehabilitation techniques such as high-pressure water jetting, root cutting, concrete removal & CIPP (Cured in Place Pipe) repairs. All works are undertaken by highly experienced personnel, with PTS, water rescue and confined space training.
Our approach will improve the safety and longevity of road & rail infrastructure through prevention of flooding. Improved road & track integrity, flood risk
management and asset management will be achieved, whilst reducing downtime for maintenance, unplanned costs and compliance.
Compared to traditional methods of repair, such as dig down repairs, the use of cured-in-place-pipe (CIPP) products both minimises above ground disruption and any inconvenience for all parties involved.
UV lining is the fastest most cost-effective and environmentally considerate way to repair defective and damaged pipes. Unlike traditional methods of CIPP repairs, the UV lining system cures the installed Glass Reinforced Polyester (GRP) liners impregnated with a UV curable resin, by way of UV light rather than hot water methods, this allows for a much quicker installation and cure time, also eliminating the need to use and dispose of water used with traditional curing methods.
The process of installing a UV liner involves inserting a GRP liner impregnated with UV curable resins into the host pipe, this is typically pulled into place and then inflated with air, end cans will then be installed at both ends. The lighting head / train is then positioned into the host pipe, at this point the onboard computer will be set, and the UV lighting head / train switched on, this will be mechanically pulled through the pipe at the specified M/Min rate.
Once installation is complete a new seamless structurally sound liner will now become the new defect free pipe.
Benefits of CIPP UV Lining
- Cost effective.
- Reduced carbon footprint compared to traditional repair methods.
- Faster method of repair.
- 50-year product design life.
- Can be used in diameters from 100mm – 1800mm
- Seamless and joint free repair.
- Independently structurally strong.
- Leak Tight.
Cured in Place Pipe (CIPP) patch repairs are a costs effective way to repair isolated defects within a length of drain / sewer.
The patch is a short sleeve of reinforced glass fibre matting impregnated with a silicate resin, this is attached to an inflatable bladder which is pushed of pulled through the pipe to the defect location and inflated over the defect, the patch is cured in place and bonds to the existing host pipework restoring structural stability back to the host pipe.
Benefits of CIPP Patch Repairs
- Cost effective.
- Non-intrusive.
- Repairs pipe diameters 100mm – 1800mm
- Reduced carbon footprint compared to traditional repair methods.
- Faster method of repair.
- 50-year Product Design life.
- No excavations required.
- Prevents water and root ingress at point of repair.

Geographic Information System (GIS)
A Geographic Information System (GIS) is one which collates, stores, studies, manipulates and displays spatial information data. This data can be presented in a variety of formats ranging from a database through to a map showing differing graphical features. In addition, a GIS can combine data from multiple databases.
On-site Data Collection. Using the latest Trimble GPS technology, we log the GPS co-ordinates of assets for display within a Global Information System(GIS). This data is collected on toughpad tablets that use the latest data collection software. The software allows data such as visual observations and photographs to be assigned to an individual asset. Observations and photos are stored alongside measured data relating to the same individual asset. In addition, given the variety of applications, our bespoke software is tailored to suit your GIS project requirements.
Data Analysis. We have experience in the handling and interpretation of many complex datasets. As we manage the whole data capture and management process we can provide a simplified model that allows all stakeholders to understand and use. As we write our own scripts to suit the Clients individual requirements We present the data in a format suited to each client’s specific requirements..
Quick Asset Condition Surveys
Quick ACS is a powerful new connectivity survey method that utilises the latest camera technology to assess the condition of a pipe.
We can understand the condition of a sewer rapidly and affordably with the cameras. Using high-powered zoom optics, we can assess manholes, tanks together with sewer lines from an adjoining manhole.
It’s perfectly suited for:
- Diagnosing emergency call-outs
- Avoiding confined space entry
- Conserving CCTV resources
- Performing a rapid, system-wide assessment
- Prioritising CCTV, cleaning, and rehab activities
- Viewing pipes too deteriorated for a traditional CCTV rig
Therefore, we can carry out surveys faster, and offer additional data capture that helps clients manage assets more effectively. This is a valuable and cost-effective alternative to carrying out detailed asset defect surveys. A team of two technicians can survey up to 1.5 kilometres of highway drainage assets per shift. That compares with no more than 500 metres for a conventional robotic crawler camera team. In turn this reduces the amount of Traffic management required and road space bookings.

Assessment and Inspection Surveys of Balancing Ponds
Balancing ponds are a critical asset within the Highways Authorities drainage network. These assets provide critical pollution control and important attenuation capabilities in the event of heavy or prolonged rainfall. We offer a comprehensive survey service for these assets. Topographical surveys are undertaken to accurately map the location of the ponds and all their attributes such as anti-pollution devices, all vital components of a quality report detailing full condition assessment.
In addition, we can calculate the depth of silt in the ponds using sonar surveying technology. The surveys allow the owner to assess the capacity/performance of the asset and plan routine maintenance such as silt/sludge clearance.
All survey data obtained on site is then collated and processed in the office by our team of technicians using the latest CAD and GIS software. A complete report can be prepared for the client along with a fully compliant ESRI SHP File for upload to the HADDMS database if required.
