Who We Are

Established company within the Highways Industry

Crown Plus was established in 2015 and since inception has grown year on year to become an established company within the Highways Industry. We operate nationally and our head office is based in Telford (Shropshire). The main focus of our business during the early years was Filter Drain Recycling but over time this has evolved into many other areas of drainage works & civil engineering projects.

We have a reputation for being client focused, innovative, environmentally friendly quality driven & collaborative. We were a finalist in the 2020 Shrophire Chamber of commerce award for Corporate & Environmental Responsibility.

Our whole approach to doing business is supported by our Health &  Safety, Quality and Environmental accreditations.

What We Do

Highways Drainage Surveys

We undertake a number of different type of drainage surveys to differing specifications dependant upon the clients requirements. Some of our flagship surveys have included the Highways England Smart Motorways Projects which required all surveys to be undertaken to the HADDMS Specification (CD535 & CS551). The on-site surveys included the use of equipment such as Manhole Laser Scanners, GPS equipment with tough pads, CCTV units & Jetters. All of the data collected from these surveys is then post processed and uploaded to the HADDMS system.

We were also awarded a place on the North & Mid Wales Truck Road Agent (NMWTRA) Drainage Condition & Connectivity Survey Framework in 2019 having been ranked in 1st place. These surveys specialise in ascertaining the location and condition of the existing highway drainage with the use of Quickview Survey Cameras and the post processing of the drainage data for upload into the Integrated Roads Information System (IRIS).

Highway Drainage Remedials

Following the undertaking of detailed drainage surveys we have the inhouse capability to undertake any remedial works identified. The are a number of methods we can implement from, no dig solutions (patching and lining) to conventional dig down replacements. We have worked collaboratively on a number highway networks including the M40 DBFO, Highways England Trunk Road Network & the North & Mid Wales Trunk Road Network.

Filter Drain Recycling

Our filter drain recycling machine was developed following a 6-month development process and is capable of recycling up to 90t of filter drain media per hour. The process is a cost-effective and environmentally friendly method of recycling filter
drains. The benefits of adopting this process include:

Reduction in new quarried materials being taken to site. Reduction in waste materials being taken to a landfill. Reduced HGV movements in and out of lane closures.

The machine has a number of controls that allows the operator to change the speed of the process based on the volume of silt contained within the filter drain itself. This ensures the drainage media placed directly back into service meets the grading specification as stated in Table 5/5 of the SHW (MCHW 1) with all waste products being removed from the site. The process transforms the non-compliant drainage system to its original condition thus ensuring no standing water remains on the carriageway and the pavement does not deteriorate prematurely due to water-related deterioration.
